Holy Cross College all set for full F2F classes

Holy Cross College, the first private catholic educational institution in Santa Ana, Pampanga is more than ready to welcome all college students for the new year. The school prepared all facilities, employees, and safety measures in place even before the start of the academic year for the transition from online to onsite learning.

The Senior High School and Integrated Basic Education have already adopted full face-to-face classes since last year. The College Department will commence the second semester with full F2F classes on January 5.

The dean of the School of Engineering, Computer and Library Studies, Dr. Marvin O. Mallari said that college students can now access all the laboratories and facilities prepared for them.

“We have acquired a new set of computers for their laboratory courses for the actual hands-on activities and experiments,” Dr. Mallari said.

“HCC is doing its best to give you quality education. We have the facilities and qualified faculty members. We will give you the best learning experience,” he added.

Before implementing full F2F classes, CHED regional offices required all schools to submit teaching and learning institutional plans at least a month before opening the classes.

The School with a Heart complied with all necessary documents including the submission of updated and modernized school laboratories and facilities which are ready for full face-to-face classes. HCC also designated additional outdoor learning spaces for students as well as additional nursing assistants to ensure the health and safety of students.

Bachelor of Science in Criminology is among the highest number of enrollees for the academic year 2022-2023 with 765 students. The School of Criminal Justice Dean Mark John Pangan said they have prepared for the growing population of the department.

“We have prepared our forensic laboratories and classrooms for the full implementation of the F2F classes. Our course syllabus and learning materials were revised to meet the standards of in-person learning,” Dean Pangan said.

“We are 100% ready to welcome our new and old students for full F2F classes. We have prepared everything to meet their expectations of quality education at affordable tuition fee,” he added.

The school submitted a self-assessment checklist on the readiness of HEI to reopen campuses to the CHED Regional Office. It shows how the school will manage the student population while complying with safety and health protocols.

Students who will be returning to school still need to follow safety protocols like wearing a facemask, submitting health declaration forms, wearing ID and proper dress codes, and following entry and exit paths.

“To our students and hardworking parents, we welcome and thank you for choosing Holy Cross College as your second home. Dear parents, our gratitude for entrusting the future of your children to HCC. Dear students, despite the challenges you have experienced in the year 2022, may you also continue to pray that 2023 will be a fruitful year for all of us as we begin a new semester for the academic year 2022-2023,” Dean Pangan said in a message.

The Commission on Higher Education announced before the end of 2022 that it will require all Higher Education Institutions to implement full face-to-face or hybrid classes for the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023.
