In preparation for the opening of the new Academic Year 2022-2023, Holy Cross College will implement strict health and safety protocols for the progressive limited face-to-face classes.
Mr. Paul Jeffrey Lansangan, the Chief of the Safety and Protection Division together with the Senior High School, Junior High School, and Guidance Office conducted an orientation for the students and parents last June 24.
The school discussed the health protocols and mobility plan that needs to be implemented to reduce the threat of COVID-19 among students, teachers, employees, and families.
Mr. Lansangan presented the do’s and don’ts for the new learning environment inside Holy Cross College. These guidelines will help everyone be safe and healthy while learning during a pandemic.
“Participating schools shall pass the School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT), so in our part HCC since nagsimula ang pandemic nag-comply po tayo sa lahat ng health and safety protocols na inilabas ng IATF,” said Lansangan.
Follow the green and red arrow
Floor markings are placed around the campus to help students follow the mobility plan, with green arrows for the entrance and red arrows for the exit. The school will strictly implement social distancing and limited capacity per classroom, each room will only allow 25 students.
The school also designated a drop-off and pick-up area for students because parents are not allowed to enter the school and limit the people who go in and out of the campus.
Gate 1 will serve as the entrance for the elementary and college students while Gate 2 is for the Junior High School and Senior High School students.
“Sa entrance gate din po makikita niyo ang mga clinic staff natin headed by Nurse Rose Ann Balagtas with Nurse Joan and Nurse Dianne. Kapag may problema when it comes to your health pwede natin silang lapitan,” Lansangan said.
Hand washing stations are located at the entrance of the schools. Each building also has designated sanitation stations to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation before entering the classroom. Triage area, holding area and isolation area are also placed to manage the health concerns of students.
Comfort rooms are renovated to improve hygiene among students and teachers. Only one student at a time is allowed to go to the comfort room. Trash bins are also placed outside the classrooms and along the corridors to maintain cleanliness.
The school canteen will be closed during the limited face-to-face classes to avoid virus contamination or socialization in the canteen.
“During break time students are encouraged to bring their own food and water. So this time you will be using your classroom and you will be given break time to eat. Food delivery is discouraged. Even during break time maintain social distancing and conversation are not allowed while eating,” Lansangan reminded students during the orientation.
Facemask is mandatory inside the campus at all times. The school reminded students that only individuals who have scheduled classes are allowed to enter the school. During dismissal time students will be dispersed one at a time with a 5 seconds interval.
The Chief of Health and Safety Division reminded students that the safety of everyone will depend on the discipline and obedience of students.
Holy Cross College will implement these guidelines and health protocols. The limited face-to-face classes will pursue while the province is still on Alert Level 1 or 2 or with the ‘go signal’ of the Local Government Unit, Department of Education or Commission on Higher Education.
