The entire Holy Cross College community honored the teachers on October 05 during the celebration of World Teachers’ Day. For the second time, the school held the Gawad Antonia H. Dizon. This awarding ceremony seeks to acknowledge the educators at Holy Cross College who have shown exemplary performance as educators and who embody the school’s core values: Fides, Caritas, Libertas.
HCC Vice President for Finance Dean Jesus Sigua, in his welcome remarks, praised HCC teachers for their hard work during this pandemic, when classes are held virtually and their work becomes more demanding.
HCC Director Engr. Gervacio Alfredo Balatbat shared the same sentiments. He observed that “despite the current hardships of the pandemic, [teachers] continued their vocations.” He said teachers do this “not just for the children [they] teach, but also for the nation [they] build.”
Meanwhile, HCC President Atty. Dennis C. Pangan thanked the teachers for their impressive performance. Their good attendance records and good feedback from both students and parents, he said, prove the good quality and characteristics of HCC teachers. From the perspective of Atty. Pangan, HCC teachers don’t just educate the minds, but also the hearts of students. He added, “Sa Holy Cross College, lahat ng ating mga guro, nagtuturo galing sa puso.”
