The Holy Cross College campus is vibrant with energy as it commences a new academic year, hosting 5,787 students from grade school to college.
The College Department, boasting the largest population, extends a warm welcome to 3,298 students, while the Senior High School Department halls are abuzz with excitement, welcoming 1,540 students.
Dr. Leticia D. Flores, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Acting Dean of SASED, elevated the spirits of students and underscored the importance of education during the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education General Assembly.
Classrooms are teeming with potential, poised to unlock doors of possibilities as students anticipate a plethora of activities and events. Each department has conducted a General Assembly to officially welcome everyone to the new academic year and orient students about the school’s rules and regulations.
“Education is the most effective way to shape values, attitude, behavior, and skills of an individual. Education is life and is as powerful and meaningful as life. Education offers a variety of knowledge and surprisingly all emotions,” she emphasized.
The Integrated Basic Education department kicks off the academic year by bringing together all new students to foster camaraderie and embrace the exciting journey ahead. The department warmly welcomes 949 students from grade school to junior high school.
The Student Affairs and Services Department explained the vital functions of their offices, ensuring that students will receive all the support they need during their time here.
“Start thinking about your future. Ang kinabukasan ay naguumpisa ngayon, hindi bukas, hindi sa isang taon. Hindi kapag fourth year na kayo at kukuha na ng board exam. Your future starts now,” Dr. Flores emphasized during the orientation.
Furthermore, Mr. Camilo D. Lacanlale, Grade 12 Assistant Principal, reassured students that they are in for the best educational journey possible at Holy Cross College.
“At Holy Cross College, we firmly believe that education goes beyond just sharing knowledge; it’s about nurturing young minds and empowering them to unleash their fullest potential. We’re dedicated to creating an environment that fosters holistic development, where academic excellence, character building, and values-based learning walk hand in hand,” he expressed.
Dr. Leticia D. Flores also conveyed her gratitude to parents and students for entrusting “The School with a Heart!” with their education.
“Unang-una sa lahat ako ay nagpapasalamat sa inyong mga magulang sa pagpili sa Holy Cross College upang dito tapusin ang inyong Senior High School. We thank your parents for entrusting your education to us, and we promise, together with the principal, assistant principal, and teachers, to provide the quality education you deserve. Thank you again for choosing The School with a Heart. Thank you for believing in us, thank you (mga) anak,” Dr. Flores expressed her gratitude.
This academic year holds the promise of exciting challenges, groundbreaking discoveries, and countless moments of inspiration.
