The pioneering batch of Holy Cross College Bachelor of Science in Criminology produced eleven (11) newly registered criminologists placing an 84.62% passing rate in the Criminologist Licensure Examination 2022.
Holy Cross College ranked 2nd in highest rating in Pampanga after Angeles University Foundation as the highest passing rate in the province. The school with a heart also placed 3rd in the highest passing rate in Central Luzon.
The school with a heart also placed 3rd nationwide among schools offering a BS Criminology program with 11-20 examinees.
Queenie Alyssa Cabrera is the highest among HCC passers and garnered an 86.50% board rating. Cabrera is just a 3.35% deficit to make it to the list of top notchers, however, she felt overwhelmed knowing she is now a board passer.
“Nakaka-overwhelm sa feeling noong nalaman namin na pumasa at naramdaman ko na proud sila sa akin. Iyong journey ko tungo sa aking pangarap na maging registered criminologists, hindi ito naging madali may mga tao na tumulong sa akin para makamit ko ang pangarap kong ito,” said Cabrera.
“Naging inspirasyon ko para sa pagiging criminologists ay makapagsilbi sa ating bayan na makatulong through service,” she added.
Erica Capulong, 31, recalled her journey as she goes back to school at age 26 here at Holy Cross College. Her journey to being a registered criminologist was not easy, financial and personal problems kept getting her way while studying.
“Pero dahil sa Holy Cross College as being one of the grantees sa UniFAST-Tertiary Education Subsidy kaya malaking-malaki na priveledge po na magsimula ng first year hangang fourth year nakatapos ako dahil sa Holy Cross College,” said Capulong.
In addition to free tertiary education, Capulong at first is hesitant because of her age gap among her classmates.
“Noong una may hesitation dahil alam mong ma-criticize ka or siguradong may discrimination. Pero nagkamali po ako kasi pagpasok ko palang andoon ang respeto nila sa akin bilang ate nila, andoon po ang unity namin noong nakilala ko ang mga kaklase ko naging smooth lahat,” she added.
The first batch of BS Criminology graduates is also part of the pioneer batch of the K-to-12 program.
These soon-to-be public servants are very much grateful for the help of Holy Cross College especially their professors and School of Criminal Justice Dean Mark John Pangan who assisted them until they took the board examination.
