Holy Cross College intensifies the information drive by launching the “Libreng Tuition Fee Caravan” and visiting the barangays of Municipality of Santa Ana, Candaba, Arayat, Mexico, and San Luis from June to July.
The caravan aims to inform students and parents about scholarships and government grants. College students residing in Santa Ana can avail of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), a beneficiary from a Local College like HCC is entitled to P60,000 subsidy each academic year for tuition, book allowance, and other miscellaneous fees.
‘No Tuition Fee’
In addition to free higher education, HCC also promotes its ‘No Tuition Fee’ for incoming Grade 11 students who graduated from public schools, they are entitled to a P17,500 voucher. Private school completers can avail P14,000 voucher value.
Curt Ruzzel Ilo, an aspiring public servant thanked the school with a heart for visiting Barangay San Pablo, Santa Ana, and for inspiring students to pursue college degrees despite financial challenges.
“Base na rin sa sinabi ng mga kailala kong nag-aral doon na magagaling at maganda ang enviroment para makapag-aral at peace of mind. Tiyaka yung sa free tuition fee malaking tulong tulad sa amin na medyo kapos din,” Ilo said.
Aside from discussing free tuition and scholarship grants of the school, Information and Communication Department Head, Mr. Mark Joshua Lansangan together with Multimedia Officer Ms. Angelica Marie Simpao, SHS teachers Mr. Jerwin Recitas and Mr. Arden Cabugos told participants that the school with a heart will help students graduate and guide them in achieving their dreams.
Among the TES grantees who recently graduated during the 33rd Commencement Exercise is BS Information Technology student, Jean Claud Catajan who finished his studies despite health conditions and limitations of the pandemic.
Parents also attended the caravan to support their children in having quality education. Gloria Garcia together with his son Mark Christian Galang is glad to know more about the school’s offerings and mission of helping student pursue their dreams.
“Bukod sa malapit sa bahay at hindi na lalayo pa, may mga graduate na rin sa Holy Cross at nakita ko na natapos at nakapagtrabaho sila ng maayos. Gusto ko maexperience ng anak ko at maging future niya na makagraduate sa Holy Cross College,” Galang said.
The ‘Libreng Tuition Fee’ Caravan of Holy Cross College is coordinated among barangay officials to implement health and safety protocols. It also partners with different barangays to reduce out-of-school youth by encouraging them to enroll and avail free tuition fees.
