The School of Engineering, Computer and Library Studies (SECLS) of Holy Cross College signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Santa Ana Elementary School (SAES) to produce handwashing stations, February 28.
Both schools are in barangay Santa Lucia or just 100 meters away from each other, but during this pandemic, the competition is not the focus.
The school with a heart volunteered to help the public school to layout or design the facilities needed in preparation for the limited face-to-face classes.
“We would like to share our respective blessings to their students, the same way our school HCC is also sharing blessings to the people. We would like to construct a project like Handwashing Station,” said college instructor, Danilo Guzman.
“For the benefit of primary students, if ever they will start with their limited face-to-face classes, it can help them to be safer against the virus,” he added.
Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Holy Cross College Student Chapter volunteered to lead the community extension program. The organization aims to impart their knowledge and through the partnership, it will also develop the skills of the students.
“And through the construction projects that we can provide their school, surely our students will also learn not only academically but also our students will learn how to practice sharing and understand its real essence,” said Guzman.
