Ready for the New Normal
Holy Cross College is set to employ a Flexible Learning Approach that will serve quality education to students while strict health and safety measures are still observed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The School with a He❤️rt eyes to open its classes on the third of August for the College Department and on the twenty-fourth of August for basic education. HCC will be adapting to the new normal mode of learning as proposed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to continue the school’s commitment to education and the general welfare of the students.
Dean Engr. Marvin O. Mallari of the College of Engineering and Criminology explained that HCC’s Flexible Learning Approach is composed of blended learning and hybrid learning systems to cater to students that have no internet connection for the school year (2020-2021).
Social or physical distancing will be strictly observed and will be carried within school premises. Mandatory wearing of face masks will also be strictly implemented during class.
Traditional classroom meetings will also be limited to protect students and employees.
On the other hand, hybrid learning will be available for students who don’t have access to the internet and transportation to attend classes.
Modules made by teachers and program heads will be given to students to guide them in the lessons. E-books and the online library will also be available to cater to the needs of students.
Teachers will undergo training to prepare and adjust them in the new learning environment.
The HCC Learning Management System will also be explained to the students. Modules and flow of lessons will also be discussed upon the opening of classes.
Atty. Dennis Pangan, HCC president, ensured that no students will be left behind during this pandemic.
Staying true to its mandate to better serve students, HCC promised a ‘no tuition increase’ in the upcoming academic year. Also, a P500 tuition down payment will be available to help parents who are hardly hit by the economic crisis.
